Flying Car

For almost a century now, people have tried to develop flying cars. Through the years many have tried and more have failed, but one company, Terrafugia, has come through on top. Terrafugia has taken the all pivotal first, second and third steps in producing this science fiction novelty. The FAA has just awarded the Terrafugia Transition Flying Car an exemption which will tolerate the 1,440-pound car/aircraft mix to fly under a "light sport" conclusion, although it knocks the scales at a hefty 120 lbs. A light sport pilot permit only requires 20 hours of seat time - a lot less than what a full pilot's license would necessitate.

The flying car,planned to be a executable part of transportation that's just as cheerful in the air as it is on the ground, the Transition comes filled with all of the safety goodies of your normal economy car - airbags and crumple zones come standard. While Terrafugia has not precisely said what kind of top speed the Transition can do on the streets, it does say the craft gets about 30 mpg when zooming about town.

Not too bad. The small carplane just needs an air strip of around 1/3 of a mile, and with its wings folded, can without a doubt fit in any garage. Total MSRP is expectable to be about $194,000.
